Our Commitment to Our Residents!

"We will be ladies and gentlemen, serving ladies and gentlemen"

A servant is no greater
than the ones they serve

Phil & Kim Krause are owners of Schoolyard Square. They opened the first licensed personal care home in Schuylkill County in 1985 and have given leadership to the growth of the personal care home industry, having served on the Boards of the Personal Care Providers Association and The Association of Personal Care Administrators. They presently are members of the Assisted Living Federation of America and the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association. Kim is the licensed administrator of record of Schoolyard Square and Phil is also a licensed nursing home administrator. Phil has built, owned and operated 2 nursing homes and 3 personal care homes. Phil & Kim live comfortably in an apartment on the Schoolyard Square premises with their family and their dog, Puddles.

Phil & Kim realize that making the decision to relocate to an assisted living center can be a difficult one.  Some view it as giving up independence; others struggle with admitting that they just might need a little help with daily living.  Actually, everyone needs a little help now and then, and the staff make it their life's work to provide service and support when it is requested or required.

Kim & Phil Krause

Our professional staff, with many years of service to older adults, offers compassion and understanding to families and prospective residents in making the adjustment to life at our home. Underlying our respect for others is the realization that "nice matters!"
